Rules and Regulations

 

SIGN-UPS: Players must be signed up prior to any played game. Each player will have a player card with his/her photo and team name. The captains will be given a ring with their players to bring to each game. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE CARDS FROM THE RINGS. Captains should collect their player cards from the referees at the end of each game. No signups of any players after the 7 th game of the season for divisions with tournament playoffs only. All players must have a player card. No temporary cards!!!

MINIMUM NUMBER OF PLAYERS REQUIRE TO BE PLACED ON THE SCHEDULE:

Teams will be require to have at least 7 sign up players minimum to enter in the league. The league policy is “First Come, First Serve” In other words, the teams that start to sign up first get priority on the list of teams allowed per division. Please keep in mind that just because you are one of the first teams to sign up, does not guarantee you will make it in. You must still meet the above requirement of the minimum number of players. The league does not have uneven number of teams divisions. If you are the last team to sign up and your team is the uneven team, your team runs the risk of being out of the league for the season. The league will do everything in it's power to allow as many teams as possible to join the league, but the rule must be follow and enforce. PLEASE NOTE, ONCE YOUR TEAM HAS BEEN PLACED IN THE SCHEDULE, NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN . REFUNDS WILL ONLY BE ISSUE WHEN THE LEAGUE HAS NO MORE ROOM FOR THE EXTRA OR UNEVEN NUMBER OF TEAMS.

THERE ARE NO SIGN UPS ON THE FIELD .

PLAYING ON 2 TEAMS:

Players that play on more than one team must pay the registration fee for each team. Players cannot play on two teams in a same division. A player may only play on a second team that is one above or below their current division. (i.e. If your team is in division 2, you can play on a division 1 or 3 team, but NOT in a division 2 team.)

REFUNDS:

There are no refunds in this league. Players, who are suspended, or otherwise, are entitled to NO FORM OF REFUND . Teams who choose to pull out of the current season will be entitle to NO FORM OF REFUND OR CREDIT.

CAPTAINS:

Captains are to maintain the control of the players and spectators of their respective teams. For the benefit of the referees, and all teams, the league encourages the use of the captain armbands.

ILEGAL PLAYERS:

A team that uses an illegal player, in other words, one that is either not registered with the league or is registered with a team other than the one they are playing for, will forfeit the game(s), which that player played in with a score of 1-0. If the team looses the game, the team will forfeit the next winning game. A player, who plays on a red card, is considered an illegal player. It is the captain's responsibility to verify the age of their players. If there is a challenge regarding the age of player, the player in question must provide a valid California license or i.d. by the next played game.

AGE REQUIREMENTS:

All players must be at least 18 years old to play in the Men's Open League. Women's Div 1 teams, Women Div 2 and 3 and Men over 30 Div, must be at least 30 years old. Players in the over 40 divisions must be at least 40 years old. The minimum age must be reached prior to the first game in which that player will participate. THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS. It is the captain's responsibility to verify the age of their players. Any players that does not meat the age requirement will be consider an illegal player and will cause his/her team to forfeit their last winning game.

HOME TEAM AND VISITING TEAM:

The first team listed on the schedule is the home team. The home team will provide the game ball and will occupy the sideline closest to the parking lot. The visiting team must remain on the opposite sideline for the game's duration, and change if the uniforms are the same color.

LINE UP CARDS:

Each team must provide an accurate, complete lineup card to the referee prior to the coin toss and equipment check. List ALL your team members even if they will not be present, home team kicks-off and visitors chose sides.

TEAM NAMES:

Team name changes will ONLY be made at the Captain's meeting at the start of each season by the team representative. Team names will not be changed unless this request is made at the meeting. Team names must be original and cannot duplicate any existing team names.

UNIFORMS:

All team members are required to wear matching shirts, shorts, and socks. All players must have a distinct, visible number on the back of their jersey. Shin guards and proper footwear are required at all times. Goalkeepers must wear a jersey that does not contrast in color to both teams. If the goalkeeper's jersey does contrast, it is their responsibility to change. Away team changes and must provide their own pinnies in the event of color conflict.

COURTESIES:

All teams should be responsible for picking up trash, water bottles and used tape, etc. from their sidelines before leaving the field.

Foul and/or abusive language will not be tolerated.

FACILITY RULES / IMPORTANT REMINDERS

These are rules mandated by AYSO AND WILL BE ENFORCE!

  • NO SMOKING ON THE FIELDS.
  • NO ALCOHOL ANYWHERE ON THIS FACILITY.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO DOGS OR PETS ON THE FIELDS.
  • SPEED LIMIT IS 10 MPH IN THE PARKING LOT.
  • NO PARKING IN UNAUTHORIZED AREAS.
  • NO HANGING OR SWINGING ON GOAL POSTS OR TREES. NO CLIMBING ON TOP OF ANY BUILDING OR STRUCTURES.
  • GAME TIMES:

    Games will be scheduled for 8:00 am, 10:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 2:00 pm.

    All games will be of two 40 minutes halves, 80 minutes total.

    FORFEIT TIME:

    Any team not having the minimum number of players at game time will forfeit the game. If neither team is ready to play, both teams forfeit the game and no standing points shall be awarded. A team is considered ready, if a game time, there are at least seven properly equipped players on the field. Forfeit time allowed is 15 minutes grace period.

  • The team causing the forfeit will lose the match with a score of 1-0
  • If neither team is ready to start play at the scheduled time, then the match is forfeited with a score of 0-0. Neither team will receive any standing points.
  • Any team forfeiting 2 matches without prior notification during the entire season will be subject to immediate expulsion without any refund. The team may also be prohibited from playing in the next upcoming season as well.
  • Call in by the previous Thursday before 7:00 p.m. in order to cancel a game without repercussion.
  • Any team traveling to tournaments during the season and are unable to play their scheduled game will have to forfeit their game. These games will not be rescheduled.

    Please have the courtesy to notify the league if your team is going to forfeit. We can then notify referees and captains of other teams.

    Games are rescheduled only due to inclement weather and at the discretion of the league directors. No guarantees are made as to the rescheduling of the games.

    INCLEMENT WEATHER:

    In the event of inclement weather, CAPTAINS ONLY can call (951) 683-3186 after 6 a.m. for information. It is the responsibility of the captains to notify their players. If in doubt, show up to the field at your scheduled game time.

    REFEREES:

    Referees are in complete charge of the game. All grievances, appeals, and protests should be made only by the team captains, and in a polite respectful manner.

    PROTESTS:

  • The official protest team shall submit a written statement on why the game is protested on an official protest form no later than 6:00 p.m. the following business day. It can either be submitted by e-mail at pksoccershop@pksoccershop.com , by fax (951) 683-6207 or by mail to PK Soccer Shop 7000 Indiana Ave., Suite #101 Riverside, CA 92506.
  • Protest evaluations will be based solely on an interpretation of the rules. Protests concerning referee decisions, based on referee judgment, will not be accepted. This includes RED CARDS.
  • Formal Protests should include the following:

  • Date, time and place of the game.
  • Names of the referees.
  • Names of the teams involved.
  • Rules and section of the official rules that pertain to your protest.
  • The referee's decision and circumstances leading up to the decision.
  • All essential facts involved in the matter.
  • Protests are taken into consideration by the League Directors and all decisions are final.
  • WATER BREAKS:

    If a team will require a water break during the water break period, even if the other team does not want one, a water break will be taken. This must be brought to the referee attention before the start of the game.

    SLIDE TACKLING:

    Slide tackling is prohibited in all divisions with the exception of Men Open Divisions . Referees will show a yellow card for slide tackling.

    SUBSTITUTIONS:

    Teams may substitute during any stoppage of play at the discretion of the referee.

    STANDINGS / POINT SYSTEM:

    Points and standings will be determined in the following way:

  • 3 points for a WIN
  • 1 point for a TIE
  • 0 points for a LOSS
  • If there is a tie in points, the tiebreaker will be as follows:

  • Head to Head
  • Goals Against
  • Goals For
  • Goals Differential
  • Coin toss
  • RED CARD RULES

    Red cards will be issued in accordance with FIFA Laws of the game with the following additions and revisions:

  • A player receiving a red card will miss the remainder of the game and the next played game.
  • A player(s) who receive a red card for starting a fight, striking another player or assaulting another player will be automatically ban from the league ( NO REFUND WILL BE GIVING ). The team for whom he/she plays will be required to pay a $100.00 fine before being allowed to play their next scheduled game. NO REFUND WILL BE GIVING.
  • A player receiving a red card for striking, starting a team fight or whose actions provoke the bench to clear and/or suspension of the game will cause his/her team to forfeit the game on that day or the next game that ends as a win for the team. Rule one will also apply. Additionally, all players identified in the referee's report during such incident will also be fine $25.00 and will be suspended for three games.
  • Any team whose players cause either one or both rules 2 and 3 to be broken, in the event of a second alteration happening, that team will be ask to leave the league and no refunds or credits will be giving.
  • Players receiving three red cards in one season will be banned from the league. Players banned from other leagues will not be allowed to participate in this league.
  • Any player receiving a red card for verbally assaulting a referee will be automatically suspended for 3 games and required to pay a $25.00 fine. (NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVING)
  • Any player who strikes or attempts to strike or assault a referee will receive an immediate lifetime ban from the league. Rule 2 will also apply. (NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVING)
  • Red cards issued during the last game of a given season will carry over to the following season. For example, a player red carded in the final game of a fall season will sit out the first game of the winter season or the next proceeding season.
  • It is the Team's Captain duty to prevent and correct the above actions from happening, not the leagues.
  • RIVERSIDE MEN AND WOMEN ADULT SOCCER LEAGUE / PK SOCCER SHOP WILL DO EVERYTHING IN IT'S POWER TO KEEP THIS LEAGUE AS A RECREATIONAL, FAMILY ORIENTED LEAGUE. WE WILL NOT TOLELARATE ANY MISCONDUCT OF PLAYERS, EXPECTATORS OR TEAMS. WE ARE ALL ADULTS AND MUST TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR OWN ACTIONS.
